Label paper
Label paper with rear gumming is excellent for marking packaged cultural artefacts. Used on envelopes, folders, boxes, sleeves etc., they allow the user to quickly and clearly identify what the packaging contains. In contrast to many other products on the market, label paper by KLUG-CONSERVATION meets all the requirements of long-term labelling.

Signature labels
Signature labels serve to unambiguously mark the contents of packaging. KLUG-CONSERVATION produces signature labels from ageing-resistant label paper. Labels are individually inscribed in black and white or colour by means of laser printing. Offset or screen-printing techniques can be used for uniform inscription of signature labels. They are supplied loose, on sheets, rolls or glued to the packaging.

Label frames
Label holders are used as an alternative to signature labels for marking packaging. Label holders are special in the sense that the inscription can be replaced easily. Label holders are made of board, plastic or metal. Replaceable inscription labels are generally protected from soiling by a polyester film.

Polyester nonwoven fabric
Thermally solidified, air permeable, dimensionally stable, solvent-resistant 100% pure polyester nonwoven fabric is used extensively in conservation and restoration. Polyester nonwoven fabric is an inert material with very high tensile strength. It is suitable for a lot of conservation work, such as e.g. as underlay or intermediate layer for fragile objects, carrier material for washing paper, for gluing, lamination and amendment of defects, and as underlay or intermediate layer when drying wet objects.

Polyamide filing mechanism
Polyamide filing mechanism (clips) - archival quality filing mechanisms used for space-saving relocation of binder contents. About a third of the former volume can be saved by relocation of a document binder for example. The filing mechanisms developed by KLUG-CONSERVATION made of pure polyamide can be used for space-saving archiving. They also offer an opportunity to read or copy the bundled documents without removal of individual sheets from the bundle.

Albertina poultice
Starch paste has been an important paper adhesive for centuries. An enormous number of objects glued or mounted with starch paste can be found in the stocks of graphic art collections, archives and libraries. The Albertina poultice was developed for gentle removal of starch-containing adhesions in a joint project by the degree course in Restoration and Conservation of Graphic, Archival and Library Material at the Stuttgart State Academy of Art and Design, the Restoration Department of the Graphic Art Collection in Vienna and KLUG-CONSERVATION.

Panduran pen
Since about 1840, alum (aluminium sulphate, Al2(SO4)3) has been used in the mechanical production of paper and board, particularly for sizing. This is one of the main causes for premature decay of paper. Panduran is an Eriochrome dye that reacts (metallisation) with Al+++ (aluminium ions) which is indicated by a colour change from yellow to violet. Since the reaction is irrespective of the pH, panduran is not a pH indicator. Alum-containing papers or boards should not be used for long-term archiving.
