Albertina poultice
Starch paste has been an important paper adhesive for centuries. An enormous number of objects glued or mounted with starch paste can be found in the stocks of graphic art collections, archives and libraries. The Albertina poultice was developed for gentle removal of starch-containing adhesions in a joint project by the degree course in Restoration and Conservation of Graphic, Archival and Library Material at the Stuttgart State Academy of Art and Design, the Restoration Department of the Graphic Art Collection in Vienna and KLUG-CONSERVATION.
