We grieve for a man who, not only had a great personality, but also had a profound impact in the field of cultural preservation.
In 1963, after completing his studies in paper engineering at the University of Applied Sciences in Munich, he began working in the German pulp and paper industry. After working for a few years in Germany he moved to France, where he was, among other things, very involved in research and development within the field of paper technology. In the years that followed, he was an advisory consultant to many paper mills all over Europe. Most recently, Guenther Wegele was the "Senior Advisor " at KLUG-CONSERVATION, the company he headed from 1984 to 2008.
On behalf of the management and the entire staff, we thank Günther Wegele for his work and promise to keep his spirit alive amidst us at the company he built in Allgäu. We are greatly indebted to him and will always strive to honour his memory through our work at KLUG-CONSERVATION.
