Part 1 – Bus ride to the Gmund Paper Mill near Lake Tegernsee:
KLUG employees were given a very interesting, guided tour of the Gmund Paper Mill, giving them with a comprehensive insight into the production of (fine) papers of various kinds. The highlight was undoubtedly the golden paper that is used to make the envelope for the Oscars.
Part 2 – Onward journey to Munich:
After enjoying a vegetarian buffet, we continued to the impressive building of the Bavarian State Library in Munich. We learned a lot about its history and the type and volume of its book collections. We live and learn – professionally as well as privately – so there was plenty to talk about over a hearty dinner at the Max Emanuel Brewery. It was a great and entertaining day, excellently and completely organised by our trainee Julia.
Many thanks (also on behalf of all participants) to the Gmund Paper Mill, the Bavarian State Library and the organisation team, especially Julia Szallai. The fun raffle on the bus ride home will remain unforgettable!
